It feels like Christmas, doesn't it? I waited in line almost two hours this morning to vote. It was cold and I was late for class. But it was so worth it.
Enjoy this parody of the famous "Yes we can" video (in case you need a little motivation):

I'm voting yes on prop 8 because gender matters in parenting. reserving the term "marriage" for a male and female couple is one way government can encourage this situation for children.
i'm sorry for any pain this may cause adults, but childrens' welfare is more important to me.
here are some other links:

children have a right to a mom and a dad 2 (the studies on same-gender parenting)

this is not to say that same-gender parents can't be awesome. but it cannot be denied that two moms or two dads cannot equal a mom and a dad. i want to live in a society that fosters this environment for children (and values it).

okay sorry for the millions of links, but they are really interesting.
I will check out some of those links when I have time.
I don't understand how you can believe that same-sex parents can be "awesome" but still not want them to be parents. That doesn't make sense to me. Obviously, you don't think they're awesome.
I don't know if there is an ideal for kids. It makes some sense that kids might benefit most from a family with a mom and a dad, but that's not necessarily the norm anymore, and there are lots of successful families with other arrangements. It's not fair to hold gays and lesbians to some higher standard.
Should we take kids away from single moms or single dads?
Look, good parents are good parents no matter what their sexual orientation is. It takes a lot more than chromosomes to be a parent.
